Hee! I didn't even notice that and I'm like the world's biggest reusable shopping bag geek. The clerks at my local Kroger roll their eyes when I walk in with my stash!![]()
But the Connecticut legislature just passed a bill to phase out plastic shopping bags altogether. No idea if the guv will sign it and if she vetos, if there are the votes to overturn. I hope so!
Seriously, though, anyone who tries them quickly discovers that in addition to being planet-friendly, they are a BILLION TIMES easier and more comfortable to use! no more bags with one thing in them, no more plastic handles cutting into your hands. You just have to get in the habit of remembering to bring them into the store. I can't tell you how many times I had to stash my cart and run out to the car for the bags when they first went into use. Now I never go anywhere without them. I even have a small nylon bag that folds up small that I take with me into places like CVS.
